Africa Safer Internet Day Celebration

“It’s Incumbent on All Parents to Educate Themselves on Technology So That They Can Teach Their Children”

This was said by the Minister of Communications, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful (MP) at the Africa Safer Internet Day Celebration 2020, held at the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church Hall in Dansoman. The event was organised by the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) in collaboration with UNICEF Ghana.

Minister for Communications, invited to join Membership of the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development

The Minister of Communications, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, (MP) has been invited by the ITU to become a member of the Broadband Commission for Sustainable Development, a joint initiative of ITU and the United Nations Education, Science and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) to promote the deployment and use of broadband networks and services to the benefit of communities and end-users.

Africa Safer Internet Day

The National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) on 8th February, 2020 organised a float as part of the Africa Safer Internet day celebration. Over 500 pupils from Basic schools within the Dansoman Community participated in the community walk as part of the celebration.

The event dubbed “Together for a Better Internet” was aimed at creating Cyber Security awareness and to promote safe and responsible use of the internet especially amongst children and young people.

Minister for Communications, launches 2020 Freedom Online Conference

On Thursday, 6th February, 2020, the 8th Freedom Online Conference commenced at the Kofi Annan Peace Keeping Center, Teshie, Accra, under the theme: ‘Achieving A Common Vision Internet Freedom.’ The event will be ongoing from the 6th to 7th February, 2020. The event was the first to be held in the West African Sub-Saharan region.

Press Briefing on Freedom Online Conference

The Ministry of Communications on 4th February 2020 held a Press Briefing on the Upcoming 8th Annual Freedom Online Conference scheduled to be held at the Kofi Annan Peacekeeping Training Centre (KAPTC), Teshie, from the 6th to 7th February, 2020. The theme for the conference is “Achieving a Common Vision for Internet Freedom”. The Ministry is collaborating with the Freedom Online Coalition to organize this international event in Ghana for the first time.

Ghana signs two Memoranda of Understanding with the State of Israel

Ghana on the 29th of January, 2020 signed two Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) with the Government of the State of Israel. This took place during the 2020 CyberTech held in Tel Aviv from the 28th to 30th January 2020.

Ministry of Communications Displays at the Ghana Results Fair

On Tuesday 14th January 2020, the Ministry of Communications (MoC) and its agencies joined other Ministries, Departments and Agencies to exhibit at the Ghana Results Fair. The three-day event which is being held at the Accra International Conference Center was opened by the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo with other ministers and dignitaries in attendance.
