Embrace digital payment - Ursula urges Ghanaians

The Minister for Communications, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful has urged Ghanaians to embrace digital payments for a secure, convenient and low-cost financial service as the country moves to a cash-lite society.

Cybersecurity Act Passed to Promote & Regulate Cybersecurity Activities

Parliament has passed the landmark Cybersecurity Act 2020. The Law establishes the Cyber Security Authority, protects the critical information infrastructure of the country, regulates cybersecurity activities, provides for the protection of children on the internet and develops Ghana’s cybersecurity ecosystem.

It is also targeted at positioning Ghana to prevent, manage and respond to cybersecurity incidents in view of our digital transformation agenda.

President Akufo-Addo Commissions 3G Voice/Data site at Atwereboana

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has commissioned the first site of the Rural Telephony and Digital Inclusion Project, at Atwereboana in the Adansi South District, in the Ashanti Region.

Commissioning the Site on Wednesday, 4th November 2020, President Akufo-Addo explained that the purpose of the Telephony Site is to ensure the provision of basic voice and data connectivity to underserved areas of the country, to help promote digital inclusion, and reduce gap in the digital divide.

Ministry of Communications launches Security Operations Centre

The Ministry of Communications, through the National Information Technology Agency (NITA), has launched the Security Operations Centre (SOC), aimed at improving security of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

Child Online Protection Portal Launched

The Ministry of Communications through the National Cyber Security Center on Thursday October 1, 2020 launched the Child Online Protection Portal (COPP) at the Accra Digital Centre in the Greater Accra Region as part of activities for the National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). The portal is designed to protect children from online sexual harassment and other internet related abuses.
